UC Berkeley | Second Year, Psychology Major and Spanish Minor
Originally from Thousand Oaks, CA, Rachel is a second-year psychology major, Spanish minor at UC Berkeley. On campus, she is on the ASUC Mental Health Commission where she raises awareness about mental health and provides accessible resources for UC Berkeley Students. She is also a part of a faith-based clothing nonprofit called YHWH Apparel that designs clothes and donates the proceeds to various Bay Area nonprofits. In Rachel’s free time, she enjoys playing soccer, running, going to the beach, thrifting, and baking. As a tutor, she is CPR certified with a Bi-literacy seal in English and Spanish. She likes tutoring because it gives students the opportunity to receive both academic and social support in a setting that is catered specifically to them. Rachel especially enjoys being able to build one on one relationships with tutees and making education an enjoyable, empowering experience. She deeply values the intersection of personal interests with academic pursuits and believes it's important that what's learned in school be applied to real-life experiences beyond the textbook.
