GRACE C.
Third Year, Cognitive Science Major
Grace is originally from Florida, and is an animal lover working with the Bruin Animal Rescue Coalition. On campus she is also a facilitator for the One Love Foundation which strives to educate young people about healthy and unhealthy relationships, empowering them to identify and avoid abuse. Grace plans to go to graduate school and, afterward, become a professor. Throughout her experience tutoring, Grace has found that tutoring is much more personal than in-class education. It can be tailored to the individual needs of each child and help them identify strategies that work for them. She finds that being able to open the door for good study habits and successful learning is rewarding enough, and tutoring helps enable students to feel more comfortable in their abilities as they grow academically.
