Second Year English and Education major
Faith is from Sunnyvale, California. On campus she is involved with the Association of Chinese Americans, but one of her biggest commitments and passions is to Breakthrough Collaborative, a non-profit organization that teaches aspiring educators to lead classrooms. As a teaching fellow, she taught Literature and Creative Writing for seventh grade, teaching a class of 10-12 students. During this fellowship, she learned how to lesson plan, break down complex concepts to students with teacher structured practice and peer structured practice—she even created her own homework assignments, socratic seminar questions, and test questions. The program’s aim was to bridge the opportunity gap for students of color. Faith is also CPR and First Aid certified and has tutored for many years ALLIES. In her free time she loves to read, write creatively and advocate for social justice via her instagram. Faith hopes to be an English teacher in her home of Sunnyvale when she’s older, so teaching and tutoring are her passions. She hopes to join the Peace Corps after college before going to graduate school for her masters in Education.
